Grand Budapest Hotel

What a gorgeous day! Even more important, all the snow is totally gone. Krissy took the day off so we ran a bunch of errands. DSW Shoes, Best Buy, Dollar Store, Office Depot, Menards and a great lunch at Maggiano's Little Italy. The chicken piccata is to die for. Looks like these errands would be shopping in most people's world but she did take a vacation day so who am I to argue.

Dinner last night at Tess was just as wonderful as the first time we dined there. I went with the pan seared tenderloin and Krissy ordered the wild caught jumbo grilled shrimp. Both delicious. Reservations are needed for most nights as it's a small joint. www.Tess2499.com

We had some time to kill before the 10:15 show so we had cocktails at the Red Dot and Von Trier's. Everywhere we went was fairly busy last night due to the big weather break. Except for the 10:15 show which had 7 people including us.

The Grand Budapest Hotel is a very interesting and different movie. It's very Monty Pythonish meets O Brother, Where Art Thou? In other words, fast paced, zany, goofy intertwined with a very good story. Ralph Fiennes is the main star and appears in about 90% of the scenes. Ed Norton, Tilda Swinton and Bill Murray round out the veteran cast. The film location is absolutely breathtaking and I highly recommend it.
